About us and introducing the faces of the pets in our lives who inspire us!

We started Arizona Animal Assistance Program and Referral after being involved with Great Dane Rescue for a number of years. What we found was that we received lots of phone calls about lost pets, found pets, general animal questions, and those looking to adopt or find a new home for breeds of all sizes and shapes!
We found that, although our passion is for the giant dogs, we were wanting to help any person, rescue or breed that we could! We felt that there was not a need for a thrid or fourth local Great Dane Rescue, but there was a need to provide support, volunteers, referrals and assistance to the existing Great Dane rescue groups as well as other breed rescues and shelters.
There are so many wonderful folks out there doing incredible things to help pets and their people in Arizona! We plan to help to provide support for them, and ultimatly connect volunteers, interested adopters, and owners needing help with these rescues.
Lastly we have seen a tremendous need for us to have an "all in one" resource to direct people to who have lost or found an animal in Arizona. We have noticed that in our areas we receive more inquiries about lost or found animals, and what to do, then any other animal related questions.
We decided we wanted to strive to achieve three main golas
1. Provide a web site that can be a resource to help animals and their people.
2. Provide a support base of volunteers who will help any person, shelter or rescue when they are able with any pet regardless of the breed.
3. Help to raise funds to assist rescues and shelters with their efforts
We hope to be able to help by featuring and spreading the word about pets currently in shelters or rescues that need special assistance. We also hope to help by featuring and networking lost or found animals in Arizona.
It is also our plan to host fundraisers to benefit various shelters and rescues in Arizona. As well as to collect donations of any animal related items to be dropped off with any shelter or rescue that may be in need of them.
Please check out our volunteer and fundraiser pages if you are interested in helping. Or check out our rescue page for a list and links to rescues and shelters if you have a certain breed or area in mind specifically that you would like to help with.
