Pepper's Story
Pepper arrived in rescue emaciated, vomiting, and covered in various parasites after being found as a stray dog by a good samaritan who coaxed her into the car and immediatly drove her to safety. We feel that Pepper literally would not have survived another week, she was so thin and ill. After some recovery time, her new family was found, but she was still underweight and struggling with severe food allergies. Her family got her on a strictly raw food diet and slowly her dull coat became glossy, her skin stopped flaking, her runny poos became solid, and her appetite increased. It has been well over a year of good solid consistant love and a strict diet and she has now filled out to the point that her ribs no longer show and she actually can be considered an "extra large" breed dog! She is all health and vigor!
Pepper's tale is a prime example of what one loving family can do to turn around and change the fate of one needy dog. It has been a lot of money and prep time to provide pep with the diet she needs to remain healthy, but her mommy says Pepper is well worth it. And Pep repays her family daily by being an excellent big sister to their new little one and being the ultimate companion dog.

Tank's Story
Tank was found as a stray dog wearing no tags and having no microchip. He was turned into rescue and he quickly found an awesome family to love him!
Tank with his best buddy on an afternoon outing!

Bianca's Story
Bianca came into us as a rescue after her family was unable to sell her as an "in heat and ready to breed" dog. She was spayed and adopted, and she is so lucky to get a shot at a real life instead of the life she almost had living in the back yard and being used for breeding only! She's a great, happy girl who is full of personality!

Maddison and Bogart's Story
Maddie and Bogart were living with a caring family in Las Vegas, Nevada. But because of a unanticipated move and some personal issues her home was no longer able to care for her.
After hearing of Maddie and Bogart, and how despearte their family was to be sure they found safe spot and did not ever end up in a shelter, we brought them back to Arizona because we felt certain we could find them a good home with one of our "big dog" contacts.
Both are in happy loving homes where they are the center of the universe for their people. See their letters and pictures below!
We are thrilled we were able to help to connect the loving family who had to give them up with new caring homes where all could be certain they will live out their lives as special family members!

Maddie is fitting in so well with all of us. The boys tend to scare her a
little sometimes with their high pitched squeals, but she really is warming
up to everyone. Stan is her buddy big time. Where ever he goes, she
follows. I've caught them both laying on the same blanket in the bedroom
from time to time, she loves to be close to him. We took Stan to the vet
about a week ago to get his nails trimmed and shots. Tony and I didn't
even think about either of the dogs getting freaked out but they both did
pretty bad. Maddie was very upset when Tony put Stan's collar on him to
take him to the car, and Stan was upset as soon as they got to the vet. I
really think both dogs thought we were taking Stan to the pound forever.
When they got home Maddie's face just lit up with joy, she was so happy to
see him she started to cry and bounced around him like he had been gone for
weeks. You can see in the second picture that Stan really loves her too.
Thank you so much for bringing such a wonderful dog into our home. The
last picture is one we are using for our Xmas cards this year. We always
include the puppies since they are a very big part of our now complete
family. Chemo
Star's Story Star was found as a stray and turned into rescue. Star was severly emacitaed and in heat. After she was not claimed by her owners she was spayed, nursed back to health and to a good weight, and then she was adopted by the Siegfreid family. Star is the perfect example of why rescues are so important, to the dogs they help and the people who get to give them new homes. Star with her new little brother decked out for Halloween fun!
Tommy (now Toby) Hi Chris, Shana and Keenan! Sorry it has taken me so long to get some pics of Toby to you.... He is the greatest, he goes everwhere he can with me and just loves to be with us and play with all his toys, he is the cutest!!! Toby lives happily with Jessy and Emi Raymond! What a loving little guy!

Heather's Rooby Roo and Princess Ozra
Ozzy’s Story Princess Ozra joined our family in Feb of 2003. Heather wanted another Great Dane and Randy (the hubby) talked her into another cat. He wanted a black cat and Heather wanted an exotic. The AZ Humane Society was the first place Heather checked to see if she could find a black Persian. Heather carefully checked every cage for the perfect companion, and found Ozzy in the very last one. She is an exotic shorthair and such a sweet thing. Her nickname is Lunchmeat because whenever we open the fridge she comes running and begs for some lunchmeat. Rooby’s Story Rooby’s former owners couldn’t handle the 90lb puppy who was all legs and tail. She was crated most of the time and a loose cannon when let out. They turned to a local Great Dane rescue that Heather happened to be volunteering for. Rooby Roo came into dane rescue in May 04, she arrived on a Saturday and was in Heathers comfy home by Sunday night. “When I saw Roo for the first time, I knew I had to have this beautiful baby. Her personality and confirmation is so similar to my last Dane, Tesla, who I lost in October of 2002. I saw so many danes come through the rescue but none of them touched me like Rooby did and I couldn’t bear to live without her” Rooby has a big family now- mummy Heather, daddy Randy, brother Aidan, sister Kelsey and the feline sister, Ozzy. She enjoys visits to the dog park, playing with the kids and her friend Zoey, and in true dane fashion- lounging on the couch. Simba the Gentlest Giant

Simba lives happily with the MacDonald family in Queen Creek, Az. He is a best friend to the kids and he has been a blessing to the entire family. Way to go Simba!!! Henry in Yuma
Henry lives happily in Yuma Arizona with his mommy Victoria and all the little doggies she helps foster and care for as an active volunteer with the Yuma Humane Society. Henry gets to be loved and lazy after having a very rough life! He retires into ease and comfort! Ginger and Zipper in New Mexico
Barbados and Seven from Tucson
Seven and Barbados are a stunning brother and sister pair that came to us from Tucson last year after their owner gave them up to a shelter. They are gorgeous solid black and well behaved with not a bad habit in site. Both have been successfully rehomed and live happily in Queen Creek AZ!! Baby Beux
Beux is our new friend Maggie's pride and joy! Maggie purchased Beux after doing lots of research on Great Danes and spending lots of time talking to dane rescuers and dane lovers. They chose a great breed and we are so happy they have joined the ranks. Isn't Beux a cutie!?! Have a happy pet tail about rescue, adopting, or a lost or found reunion. If there is a special tail you would like to share, or person or pet you would like to thank, send us an email at [email protected].
